Educational Goals

Background

The National University of Tainan, formerly known as the National Tainan Teachers College, primarily aims to train and develop outstanding educators for primary education. The university has excelled in research, teaching, and community engagement across the fields of humanities, social sciences, arts, and education.

In 2004, the institution was officially upgraded to university status, and these disciplines were consolidated to form the College of Humanities. In 2007, the College of Performing and Visual Arts was established, allowing the arts to stand as an independent entity separate from the College of Humanities.

On August 1, 2019, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences was renamed the "College of Humanities." In addition to its ongoing efforts in research and teaching across the humanities, arts, and social sciences, the college actively collaborates with Tainan City on initiatives related to the humanities and the arts. The university aspires to establish the city as a significant hub for academic research in these fields.
